Louisville Vies for Catfish Trophy

Louisville - Former Big East power, University of Louisville, won the conference in 2006. In 2007, they decided to try for the other conference award, The Catfish Trophy. The prize is presented annually to the bottom-feeding Big East team, aka, the worst team.

Last year's representative, the Syracuse Orange, came into Louisville last Saturday attempting to hold on to it's crown. Head Coach Robinson commented. "We did everything we could - pulled out all the stops against the Cardinals but it wasn't enough. They came up with a defense we've never seen before. We simply couldn't not score."

Newcomer UL coach Kragthorpe's squad are currently down 20 points at home to Mountain West slap school, Utah. Heading into the half, Coach provided Pantherrants with his second half strategy. "After watching Pitt's performance last week, we knew we'd have to up the ante if we're going to get that Catfish Trophy. I'm proud of my team's execution in the first half. So far, they've played about as bad as a team could possibly play. The defense is simply the worst ever. In fact, we're confident that even Pitt OC Matt Cavanaugh will have success. Still, it's only the first half; we've got a long way to go."

Good luck, Coach K - somewhere, Ron Dickerson is pulling for you.

Who is the bigger slap?

Is it Chicago Dave?

Chicago Dave was 7-9, 9-7, 9-7, 7-9, 4-12, and 4-12 with an overall record of 40-56. Go to Chicago and mention his name to a Bears fan and they thank the lord he was fired and tell you what an asshole he is.

Now we have Miami Dave.

Miami Dave was 11-5, 11-5, 9-7, 10-6, 1-8 with an overall record of 42-31. You might think this is a good overall record but remember he took over Jimmy Johnson’s team that was primed for a super bowl run. Actually JJ had all the pieces in place and after a few years Miami Dave screwed it up. Yes they hate him in Miami and call him an asshole.

Dave (Chicago or Miami) has a career pro head coaching regular season record of 82-87.

Ok, the last one is our guy Pitt Dave.

Remember Pitt Dave took over a BCS team with an established QB, but according to all, we did not have the right football players in place and Pitt Dave had to start from scratch because all we had were recruits left over that went to bowl games.

Yes, Pitt Dave was going to bring in top recruiting classes and take us to the next level. What Pitt Dave failed to mention is that he has no sense of direction and the next level with Pitt Dave is down, sadly to the ground.

Pitt Dave has a record of 5-6, 6-6, 2-3, hell give Pitt Dave another year and we will be lucky to win another game.

There is a pattern, first and foremost it is Dave, he is just stupid, the longer he stays the worse the record gets.

I nominate Dave for the 2007 Slap of the year, better yet, give it to him as a lifetime achievement award.

I really do not think we can beat Louisville because Dave will devise a game plan to limit our scoring chances by running LSH 50 times and doing something totally stupid.

Any one second the nomination?
